:: 3 Living Composers, 5 Premieres (June 7-8, 2008) We started working on the June program
with the goal of making it into a memorable choral experience. The basic idea was
to center the performance around specially commissioned pieces for the New Choir.
We are very happy to let you know that we have successfully
secured commissions by three composers and they came through with some wonderful new music. New Choir Venues (2007 - 2008)
Admission: $20 - General, $12 - Seniors/Students, $15 - Groups For more information, Since its founding in 2000, the New Choir has been performing two scheduled performances each year; one in Spring or Summer and the other at Christmas. The choir also makes numerous guest appearances throughout the year.

To the Heavenly Land. Program included works by Stanford, Bach, Dufay, Palestrina, Beethoven, Nak-Keum Baik and others. Coelos Ascendit Hodie (Stanford) Komm, Jesu, Komm (Bach) Kyrie (Dufay, Palestrina, Beethoven) Jacob's Ladder (Nak-Keum Baik) Christmas carols from all around the world. Program included works by Stanford, Lauridsen, Poulenc, Victoria, Mozart, Mechem and others. Magnificat Ave Maria O Magnum Mysterium Regina Coeli An evening of sacred music with works from the 16th century through today. The program included works by J.S. Bach, Britten, Byrd, Duruflé, Purcell, Tallis and many others. In the beginning If ye love me Sing Joyfully Jubilate Deo The New Choir was invited to perform at the 2006 American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Western Division Convention in March, 2006 at Salt Lake City, Utah. It's a great honor to receive an invitation to an ACDA convention and we were very excited to have been selected to perform. The convention took place from March 1 to March 4. We performed on the first day of the convention and, to our surprise and delight, our program was very well received. (We even got a standing ovation!) We will provide more details and photos soon. Our first concert tour in
Los Angeles took place during June 25th to June 26th and was a great
success. The choir performed two concerts and was received
enthusiastically by the lovers of choral music in Los Angeles.
